Abstract: Background: In the human body 70% of cancers are epithelial cells and of those cells, it takes up to one billion cells before cancer can be seen by the human eye. Digital pathology allows cells to be analyzed at a resolution higher than the human eye can detect. This opens the possibility of precision-based medicine. Benford’s law is one tool used in image analysis that has yet to be considered for digital pathology.
