Abstract: This article describes a general method that can detect statistical data abnormalityby Benford’s law.In addition,the article discusses how to combine Benford’s Law with panel data models to identify the observations that may have data quality problems.We demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method method with an examination on major economic indicators of Chinese national development zones.
