Abstract: In this paper, it is researched possibity of usage of this Benford’s Law in analysis of conso- lidated balance sheets of the banks that are traded in the İstanbul Stock Exchange. On the basis of online available and public data, we compare distribution of first significant digits of balance sheets of set of values against the Benford’s Law. Results show that the majority of distribution of the first significant digits follows the Benford’s law, but some results indicate that an unusual higher amount of numbers is beginning that particular number.
